Detect Heartbeat: This module is fitted to Port 4 UP-SIDE-DOWN. Paint the number 4 on the UNDERSIDE of the module so you do not insert it around the wrong way. Put your finger between the transmitting LED (clear LED) and the receiving LED (square LED) and the LED on the Testing Board will vary in brightness. No current-limiting resistors on the module. It cannot be connected directly to any supply.
